Gypsy has been with us for about 4 years but her previous history is unknown, shes a hen Citron Crested Cockatoo, who idolises my Son, James. Although She dislikes males! She will only tolerate me when James is not around. She lives with Dexter. She Doesn't really play with Toys, but she loves to spend time in the aviary and have showers. Her favourite past time is sitting with James whilst on his computer.
Haggis is my home bred hand reared male African Grey, he's my "Special" boy!
He rules the roost here at Humphries Headquarters and keeps everyone in check.
Haggis is a typical Grey, only really likes me unless the boys have something interesting, then he may grace them with his presence. Hes a great talker when it suits him and he really is a funny character, a real lovable rogue. Haggis enjoys days out in the aviary when the weather nice...he loves to be out in the rain, this is his preferred method of showering him as he detests the spray. His most favourite toy is the Bamboozler, he doesn't destroy toys just likes to swing off them!!
Buster is a male Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, who came to me with very little history, he is very male aggressive, but a placid little fella in the right environment, he loves to shred toys and trash boxes....hes also really good at test driving unremovable bowls and has yet to be beaten!!
He enjoys sitting on my lap enjoying cuddles. Buster happily goes out on his harness and enjoys time in the aviary. He says hello everytime the phone rings and bye bye. Hes a grumpy old bugger but my favourite of all the toos.
Dexter is a male Citron Crested Cockatoo. He was well loved in his previous home, but no history prior to that. He is not a lover of being handled but he is quite sociable, he will happily let you tickle his head, but he doesn't like hands and will happily enter a travel cage on his own if its for his benefit!! He loves time in the garden with gypsy, who he adores! You often hear Dexter asking "Do you want a cup of Tea?" and the odd "Hello", Dexter is a huge chewer and destroys as many boxes as you can give him! He is a sweetheart!
Scooter is a male Blue Fronted Amazon that came to live at Humphries headquarters, who has had a lovely life and been well loved! He has no issues, Sings like no other, His Vocabulary is fantastic and his favourite person is my youngest son. He loves swinging on anything he can find, and will do so for hours. He enjoys being outside on the harness, and goes in the aviary with Haggis and Lippy when it's nice weather. hes not much of chewer but he loves cuddles and will lie on his back getting tickles. A delightful little bird.
Ziggy is a Male Lesser Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, his owner loved him but his behaviour proved difficult to live with, his history prior to this is unknown.
When he came here both his wings were clipped and he was totally unflighted. Over time his wings have grown back fully and he now is a very able flier, the clip however did not stop his aggressive behaviour. Ziggy is a very comical little fella, who loves to play and run about, he loves to dance to music. He is very noisy and can only be out alone as he is aggressive to all other birds and every other human he has met. he does adore me so i guess thats lucky!!
Lippy is a hen African Grey has been with us for years, she was an aviary bird but over time has become increasing attached to Mark, and upon losing her partner we made the decision to bring her in to the house to live.Lippy has adapted well to the home environment, but worships the ground Mark walks on, she says "hello" and makes lots of great sounds, her favourites are a police siren and water dripping.
she has even managed to accept a harness. Shes a very dominant bird and knows her own mind well!!
Lippy is often referred to as "The Trout" by me!
Bonnie is a hen Mollucan Cockatoo, she lived with the same owner all her life prior to coming to me. She is a plucker/mutilator after experiencing some stressful moments with her previous elderly owner.
She is the most wonderful bird who will happily go for cuddles of everyone. She can say "hello" and "Bonnie shut up" which is quite sad, after all she is a Mollucan and they are very loud!!Bonnie enjoys walks on the harness and playing in the garden with people, she has short periods outside in the aviary, but just adores to be cuddled and if you stop she will make sure you get the hint she wants more!
She doesnt really like other birds to close, but is happy living alongside them.
